This tool at Smith’s Tavern was mostly likely handmade by a blacksmith. It is comprised of three distinct metal pieces: the handle, with a hanging hook, a metal shaft and then the near-square shaped spatula head. Spatulas are used to scrape within the contours of a bowl or to flip over cooking food.
