This tool at Smith’s Tavern is a cherry pitter that is stamped with “Goodell Co. Antrim, N.H. U.S.A.”. It is made of cast iron and wood; it was attached to a work surface via its vice clamp. The cherries were lined up on the metal tray which has two parallel groves, then the hinged arm with two prongs was swung up and through the cherries, pushing the pits through the device.
