Historic Tools of North Castle

Tin Oil Lamp

This item at Smith’s Tavern is an early type of oil lamp made of tin.  It is small like a teacup with a “C” shaped handle and two “chimney” tubes coming out of the closed top.  The taller tube probably held the wick and the smaller being the refilling port.

Our research has also been unable to discover any more about this item.  If anyone does know more, please email the Historical Society with this much-needed information.
