Cast Iron Stove Handle

This cast iron tool was most likely used to move the lids off the top of wood or gas stoves.  The tool has a clawlike end and a hook in the middle that would help lever the lids off the stove.  This is guesswork as no similar tool was discovered during our research.

If anyone does know more about this type of device, please email the Historical Society with this much needed information.
