Container for Reheating Food

This item at Smith’s Tavern is a cylinder-shaped device made of tin, with a hinged door at the bottom and winged handles on both sides of the top of the device, with two tin cups that fit into each other and then slipped into the top of the cylinder.   It is uncertain as to what type of fuel would be used to reheat the food in the cups - but could be a candle.

If anyone does know more about this type of device, please email the Historical Society with this much needed information.
