Miniature Hanging Scale for Stamps or Pills in Wooden Box

This item at Smith’s Tavern in a miniature hanging scale for weighing stamps or pills. The device comes with a small rectangular storage box with a lid and tiny square wooden counterweights.  The scale itself is composed of a hanging hook attached to thin metal arms that have three dangling strings that hold a round disc.  The counterweights probably had known measurements. The piece to be weighed would be placed on one disc with the counterweights added to the scale balanced.
