Polishing Pad for Silver & Pewter

Our research has not been able to find any information on a tool like this one at Smith’s Tavern, so it is believed this was a handmade device.  Supposedly, it was used to polish both silver and pewter household items.

 

If anyone does know more about this type of tool, please email the Historical Society with this much-needed information.
